Use of Generative AI
Policy on Generative AI and AI-Assisted Technologies
Pharmakeftiki maintains a strict policy regarding the use of Generative AI (such as Large Language Models, ChatGPT, or similar AI-assisted tools) in the preparation of manuscripts.
- Authorship Prohibition: Generative AI tools do not meet the criteria for authorship. These tools lack the capacity to take responsibility for the submitted work, manage legal rights, or manage conflicts of interest. Consequently, AI cannot be listed as an author or co-author.
- Manuscript Content: The use of generative AI or AI-assisted technologies to create or write any part of the manuscript—including text, data interpretation, or the generation of figures and images—is strictly prohibited. All content must be the original product of the human authors.
- Technical Editing: The use of basic grammar and spell-checking tools is permitted, provided they do not generate new substantive content or alter the scientific meaning of the work.
- Reviewer Use: Peer reviewers are strictly prohibited from uploading submitted manuscripts into generative AI tools. This constitutes a breach of confidentiality and a violation of the intellectual property rights of the authors.
- Compliance: Failure to disclose the use of such tools, or the unauthorized use of AI in the creation of the manuscript, will result in immediate rejection or retraction of the paper.
